A Box For Your Thoughts!

Today I would like to share a book box that I altered. It's a paper mache box I purchased online. It opens like a book to reveal a niche inside for notes or other small items. Sadly, we have had several ladies in our community widowed in the past months. I made these boxes with inspirational poems inside and out as well as note paper for their thoughts and prayers. The box was colored with, of all things, shoe polish! It gave the paper a rich worn look. I then decoupaged the images on the front and the back. I added a twisted paper ribbon as an accent. Hope this offers a little inspiration for you, too! Blessings to you!

CD Gift Bag

Hello and welcome! This is a gift bag for a CD or any flat type gift. It could hold tickets, a gift card or even cash! It is made from a lunch bag. You cut just enough off the top of the bag so it fits under bottom flap in the shape of a square. Add panels of patterned paper and some embellishment and that's it! Super simple but such a nice way to present the gift. It can also be reused as nothing is torn open! Hope you like it! Have a blessed day!

My Favorite Things

Hello All! I'd like to share a card today that was made for the first Sweet Dreamers Blog Group Challenge. Our challenge was to make a project that represented our favorite color and what we enjoy other than stamping. This patterned paper said it all for me! My favorite color is green. I love sharing my faith as I am truly blessed so I used this Bible verse stamp. I also love floral design so I added the flower and ribbon. Hope you like it!
Have a blessed day!

A Little Birdie Told Me...

Hello everyone! I'm sharing a card today that took on life on its own! I just knew I wanted to use these images. The background is stamped with a leafy branch stamp. The images are stamped with craft ink and colored with Prismas. The sentiment is written in with black marker. The card is folded into thirds but almost accordion style. I had fun playing around with the fold and it still fits in a standard envelope. I'll keep this one in the stash and hope no one needs a get well card any time soon!
If you like some of what you see on this blog, why not become a follower. I never know what craft idea may show up here until it's ready to post! I would hate for you to miss something you might like! Thanks for taking time out of your busy days to stop by and I hope everyone has a great week! Blessings to you!

Scalloped Interlock Gift Box

Hi everyone! I recently made this gift box from a template I have had for a very long time. The scallops interlock to keep the box closed. I used white and patterned cardstock on this one, but it also beautiful made up in wallpaper! It is a good size box for larger gifts or gift cards as it is 3 3/4" square. And it's perfect for swaps or gift exchanges! I don't have the source anymore for the template but I will try to scan it into my computer. If you would like a copy, email me at bountifulblessings@charter.net or leave your email address in a comment on this post. I will do my best to get it to you right away! Blessings to all!

The Lion and the Lamb

Hello all! This is a prayer journal I made for our "KeenAgers" senior group at church. The journal was first posted to a new blog known as Going Green Greetings which you can find here. The image is matted to recycled cardboard and the edges sanded. The back is covered in solid paper. I used the Bind-It-All to connect the inner pages and the cover. I thought about adding ribbon; but, to me, it took away from the impact of the image. So, although simple, it still makes a bold statement! What do you think? Thanks for stopping by and blessings to you!

Paper Bag Scrap Album

Greetings! Today I would like to share an album made from paper bags. I used six bags with the bottoms cut off on this one. Each of the twelve pages is matted with patterned paper and stamped with a Bible verse. I also made cardstock inserts for each "pocket" and added colored tabs.It is bound using my Big Bite and ribbons. I really like the way this turned out and plan to make several more for a craft show in the fall. Hope you like it, too! Have a blessed day!

Tea Anyone!

Today I am sharing a card that is a favorite (and, yes, green is my favorite color!!lol!). It is a teacup patterned after the template from the Frugal Crafter here. The photo does not do the "bling" justice but I used glittered patterned cardstock to make the cup, matted to a yellow card base. The tag is stamped with Brilliance ink on a stamp from an SU tag collection. The flowers are punched with a Martha Stewart punch and I used microbeads for the centers. I had a blast putting this card together and I'm saving it for just the right person who needs a little shimmer in their lives. Thanks so much for the blog visit and I hope you will come by often. I never know which of my craft "personalities" will come out next, so, we will find out together! Blessings to all!

Birthday on the Lake

Hi Folks! This is the birthday cake I made for my granddaughter, Tori, for her 5th birthday! She had a swimming party at a nearby lake so she wanted a "lake cake"! It was a perfect day with beautiful weather, a sanded beach and shallow water, a cool breeze and even a fish or two jumping! She and her friends played for hours and only came out of the water for snacks and cake, of course! Her cake is half chocolate, half strawberry (her favorites) and frosted with buttercream frosting. I made the beach chairs and flip flops out of craft foam colored with Sakura gel pens. The animals and the little girl were from a "Polly Pocket" set. The "beach" is frosting covered with brown sugar. I used foliage from around my house to mimic the trees around the lake. The birthday banner was printed on the computer. I was thrilled when we arrived at the site and the cake had "travelled well". Thanks for letting me share this special day for our family. I would love to see and hear about your special cakes, too! Bountiful blessings to you all!

You're In My Thoughts.....

Hello all! I'm sharing a sympathy card today. A simple looking card but several steps to complete. I started by embossing the card base. I then stamped the tree and colored it with Prismacolors. After I finished coloring it, I went over it with a Versamark pen and used clear embossing powder. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the shine is there. I added the sentiment in Chestnut Roan chalk ink. Just a simple card to let the family know we're thinking of them. Have a blessed day!

I Would Like to Introduce Ria!

I know this photo is not the best but I had to post it anyway! Hope you can see my 8-week-old kitten Ria sitting in my purse! I had been looking everywhere for her and never thought to look here! She was sound asleep but woke up when I took the picture. Her name is short for Victoria ( the name I and my granddaughter share) but it was appropriate for her, too, because she is only surviving kitten out of a litter of five. Needless to say, she's pretty special. It's hard to be down and out when you have this little imp around! Thanks for letting me share one of my "herd" with you! Hope you have a blessed and "Victorious" day!

Just Saying Hi!

Pretty and Pink

Hi and Happy Wednesday! I found the template for this watering can on SCS here. ( at bottom of page) I just had to try it! It was a fairly simple project and one I think I will do often. It would be such a wonderful party favor or tray decoration! It just says summer to me! Hope you like it, too! Come by again soon and have a blessed day!

Envelope Album

I want to share an envelope album today. I used white cardstock for the cover and three business size envelopes for the inner pockets. The pocket covers and the belly band are from printed paper. I also used a Fiskars border punch on the cover flap. The inner pockets have inserts for added photos or journaling. It is a bit time consuming but a relatively easy album to make. Great way to use up those business reply envelopes we are always getting in the mail. If you have questions or comments, please let me know.
Hope you will visit again soon! Blessings to you!

Molly Has A Winner!

Yep, here she is in her favorite spot, My Bed!! But before she decided to lounge a while she did pick a winner for the blog candy card. And the winner is PAIGE! Congratulations! Please send me an email with your address and we will get your card out to you right away! We had 22 comments and Molly's foot stepped right on Paige's! Guess you could say she won by a nail (toenail that is). I want to thank all of you who participated in my little celebration! It was a lot of fun for me and Molly. But now the cats are pouting, so, I have promised them they can pick the next time!
Several have asked about the card offered as blog candy. (see previous post) It is a printed card from Print Picnic. Look under Mother's Day cards. It is a bit tedious to put together but well worth the effort. I used their pot as a template and made my own color. Then I stamped it with a flourish stamp by stamping off first. I also added Creative Writers glitter paint to the flower centers. Gotta have the bling! A sentiment card can be added into the flowers or on the base. I hope you try it and link us up so we can see your version! Okay, Molly wants to go outside so I'll catch up to you all later! Blessings to all!

A Little Blog Candy Thank you!

Woohoo! I'm excited! Can you tell! This little blog just went over 1000 hits! That far exceeds any expectations I had! If it goes to 5000, I may get "the vapors"! As a small thank you (I wish I could do more), I want to offer this floral pop up card to a lucky winner! It is a stand alone card that can be used for any occsion where you might want to send a little bouquet. I purposely left off any sentiment for that reason. It folds flat for mailing, too. Let's see! This is my first time at this so we need to keep it interesting! Just leave a comment on this post by midnight July 12th and I will announce the winner on Monday! The winner will be chosen by "random.dog". I will put all the names on slips of paper, toss them in a jar, shake it well and throw names on the floor. Then I will call in my dog, Molly. Whatever name is under her right hind leg will be the winner! Sorry, folks, it's the best I know how to do!!

I want to thank eveyone who has visited Bountiful Blessings and a very special thank you to those who come by often. You are all precious to me and bring me great joy! Okay, let's get to blurfing some more! I've got blessings to pass around!!

Rev It Up!

Hello Everyone!
I thought I would give the paper crafts a rest for today and share a cake I made for our pastor's birthday. He rides a motorcycle so I couldn't resist this image I found. No, I'm not an artist by any means!! I add images to cakes by printing them off on freezer paper! The wax side down makes for easier removal when you are ready to slice the cake. And freezer paper is much more accessable as well as cheaper than rice paper! Give it a try! I would love to see a pic of your work! Please email me or leave a comment with a link!! Sharing ideas is what makes crafting so much fun and so rewarding! Thanks for the visit and come by again soon! Blessings to you!

My Little Chickadee

Good day to everyone! I thought I would share some details about the picture you see on my blog. This little birdhose is a cute accent piece for a windowsill or table top. It's not just a birdhouse, but also a candy box! It also makes a great gift box for small items such as jewelry. The box opens by lifting the left side of the roof. This box is made with printed cardstock on a white cardstock base. The flowers are punched with a Martha Stewart punch and 1/4" circle centers. The little bird I purchased from a craft store. The eggs are mini jelly beans. This is definitely one of my favorites. I keep the picture on my blog as it always makes me smile. I would love to design and make one of these little houses for you in your choice of colors. Just email me with your order and any questions you may have. Thanks for visiting today and blessings to you!
