Faux Quilt

This faux quilt card is one of my favorites! I really like the colors. I enjoy making these cards as it gives me the opportunity to use some of my smaller scraps of paper. These papers are part of a Spring paper stack. I colored the image with Prismas.I don't want to be selfish, but I'll probably keep this one in my stash for a while just so I can enjoy it! Is that awful?!?! Maybe I can redeem myself by saying I hope each and every one of you has a blessed day!

Vintage Frame

Hello and welcome! Today I have a card that is fairly time consuming but definitely worth it. I got the main idea from a Martha Stewart segment on vintage frame cards. The template is available at her website. I would love to put a link in for you, but I haven't figured out how yet. Of course, I never have all the gadgets and papers that she has access to, so, I improvised with my own stash. I used gray card stock for the base. The pink layer is cut by the template and the floral layer is cut smaller. You need to have double-sided paper or cardstock for the top layer as the design shows when you "peel" back the opening.I antiqued all the edges with gold marker and gold ink. I then used basic brass brads coated in antique brown embossing powder for the accent. I thought about ribbon but decided the frames were "busy" enough already. The image is a digital find that I played with to get the pink copy. This is a large card. It measures 8" x 6". You can add an easel to the back and it is beautiful to display. It can also be framed and hung if you like. Like I said, the time and effort was worth it as you have created a keepsake not just a card. For my next attempt, I hope to use a family photo and create a keepsake for my family!! Thanks for stopping! Let me know what you think of this card! Blessings to you!

Father's Day Goodie

No, you are not seeing things! That really is a fishing bobber sitting on a bottle. This was a Father's Day goodie I handed out to the men at my church. Silly, yes! But they all loved it! I printed the "fishers of men" verse on the computer, cut it out and adhered it to the bottle. I also printed Happy Father's Day and used my word window punch to cut those out. I used a paper punch to prick a small hole and attached the label to the bobber wire on top. I used glue dots to adhere the bobber to the bottle. Each bottle was filled with chocolate kisses. I guess even the silliest of ideas have a place somewhere!! Have a blessed day!

Floral Gum Slider

Hello! Today I have a gum slider(18 pcs) I made as part of a gift basket. The floral paper is actually wallpaper. I added some pearl ribbon and a scallop circle for accent. I love making these as you can use scrap paper for this small package. If you would like the dimensions, just email me or leave a comment with your email address. Happy Friday and have a blessed day!

Coffee Time

These are coffee cup cards I made using template from Zakka Life Crafts. I used glitter stack paper for the base and sponged the edges with Brilliance Ivy ink. The birthday sentiment was stamped in Brilliance Pearl Blue and punched out with Marvy large oval. The "share" sentiment is a digi image. I used hot pink ribbons as accents and also some pearl embellishment. I love this paper stack and hope to share more of it in the near future. I would love to hear what you think! Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Amen!

I just had to post this pic of my granddaughter, Tori, praying at VBS. It was an awesome week and she was our Bible carrier a couple of times. You have to look closely at her eyes. With her personality, I expected her to have one eye winking! Thanks for indulging a grandma a little brag time. Blessings to all!

Good News and Bad News

Well, the title says it all! Mixed blessings this weekend! The good news is I had the chance to make several cards and do some fun crafting. The bad news for me is that my computer won't download the pictures of my work. Very frustrating to say the least. I have no idea why I can't download but I'll keep trying to figure it out. At any rate, I hope you all had a great weekend and your week is starting with bountiful blessings!!

Western Note Cards

This is one of several note card sets I made for my friend with a bed and breakfast horse ranch. I used all occasion sentiments on a faux woodgrain background. The set of four was inked on white cardstock and matted to black. I also stamped matching envelopes. I made a simple holder with two inside pockets from an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of brown cardstock. The images on the front are inked in white on black cardstock. I also sponged white ink around the outside edges and matted it to the brown folder. I then attached a black satin ribbon as an accent. I love doing theme projects such as these. It gets those creative juices flowing again. Many thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a blessed day! Y'all come back now, ya hear!

Wedding Cake Slices

This is a wedding cake made of favor boxes. The pic was made "under glass" so the detail is not as bold as I would like but I think the idea still comes through. These boxes were a little different from other "cakes" I have made as these are crafted with wallpaper. The paper is deeply embossed and has a shine to it that just says "bride". It makes a beautiful centerpiece for a shower or even reception tables. If you have any questions, just send an email or leave a comment and I'll try to answer quickly. Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Simple Philosophy

I had so much fun with this card! The sentiment states a simple philosophy: Plant Dreams Pull Weeds and Grow a Happy Life. Easy! Right? I guess the hard part is sorting out the "weeds"! It is a digital image colored with Prismas and attached with dimentionals to top of swing top card. I embossed the top panel with the Cuttlebug and connected all with a flower blossum brad. I made this for a friend of mine who is an avid gardener. Amazing how simple things can bring such joy! Thanks for stopping by. Blessings to all! And hope you find simple things that bring you joy today!

Friendship Step Box

This is my first attempt at the step box. I love the concept but still have some learning to do on this one. It was made for a dear friend and filled with her favorite small treats. I used decoupage on outside panels to mount the digital images. I also took images from napkins to accent the top and one side. The fan pull on top was folded from printed cardstock and accented with a button. I love the colors I used but wish I had used more detail inside the box. To say the least, this was a learning experience! Thanks for stopping by! I welcome your suggestions for future attempts on this box! Have a blessed day!

Hello to all! This card just makes me feel good! Kind of like warm fuzzy slippers! I used family themed printed cardstock , lavender punched flowers with button centers and ivory satin ribbon. "Green" Desk Sets

These are desk sets made from recycled cardboard. I used printed paper to cover and for pen insert. Each set has mini clipboard, matching pen, calendar and post it pad. I used the Bind-It-All on the calendar/post it pad folder. These make great gifts for teachers or coworkers. Each can be made in color or theme of choice. The ones pictured are to be birthday gifts for church staff. We would love to design one especially for you or your gift giving. Please email me if you have questions or to place an order. Thanks for looking and blessings to you!

View From My Kitchen Window

As a new blogger, I thought you might like to see some of what inspires me on a daily basis. I live in the mountains of East Tennessee and wake to God's beauty all around me every day. I live in a 110 year old house with more character than I could ever imagine. We have been blessed to have seven generations live in this house. The barn you see is over 150 years old. It is still functional and shelters three horses on a stormy day. I am surrounded by dogwood, redbud and poplar trees just to mention a few. Three creeks merge outside my kitchen door. So, even though I cherish my crafting time, I always come back to that view outside my kitchen window. Thanks for letting me share what truly inspires me and keeps my eyes open to what beauty can be. Have a blessed day!

Cars for Father's Day

Good Morning! I want to share another Father's Day card with you. We have so many car "buffs" in our family, I thought this card might appeal to them. A very simple card stamped on white cardstock and matted on black. I added faux stitching and doodle stars to accent. Hope you are having a great week as I am. It's VBS week at our church and it has been a busy week but a blast! Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Happy Father's Day

I wanted to make a card for all the motorcycle fans in our family and among our friends. This card is based with black cardstock and matted with brown. Instead of kraft paper, the embossed image and sentiment are stamped with SU black craft ink on cardboard that was once a tube wrapped in bath tissue. You got it! A toilet paper roll! It takes the ink beautifully and embosses better than cardstock! The front panel of the card and the other papers all have torn edges to enhance the masculine theme. Antique brads are added to the four corners. Burlap thread is used to make the ribbon accent. This is a simple card but one I think will be accepted nicely by the dads who receive them. Hope you all have a blessed day and you never run out of cardboard tubes!! Click on image to enlarge.

Spring and Summer Wreath

This is a wreath I made to celebrate the end of winter. It is done with silk flowers but the light colors and wispy arrangement make it look very fresh and real. I love working with flowers of all kinds and I especially enjoy incorporating them into other craft media. The beauty and detail of God's work always amazes and inspires me....even if that beauty is fabricated in silk. Have a beautiful day and blessings to all!

Gift Card Holders

These are gift card holders made with various printed papers and white card stock. I also embellished with stamps, ribbon and glitter. An inner panel slides out and slots hold the gift card. These can be made with any theme or color choice. They can also be mailed. The look of a "present" is a great touch when a gift card is given. Please email me for further details. Blessings to all and have a great day!

Greeting Card Display Board

Here's a sample of cards displayed at craft fair. I love this board as it is covered with fleece and helps to hold cards in position even after folks have moved them. What can I tell you? I have great friends who designed and made this display board for me. Thank you Don and Mary! Hope you enjoy your visit and have a blessed day !

YeeHaw

This boot card was made for a very dear friend who owns a bed and breakfast horse ranch. I used a flourish stamp and embossing powder to raise the detail. I also used some paper piecing to add some dimension. This card was a fun challenge to make and was very much appreciated which makes it all the better. Blessings to all!
