Thank You Ms. Loretta!
Greetings! Hope everyone is having a great weekend! We are finally seeing some sunshine!
Today I want to share some pics of the wonderful blessings I received from an awesome blogging friend, Loretta! Loretta is also a Glitterbee and has a fantastic blog where she shares her many talents and craft projects!
I was thrilled when the package arrived! So many goodies! You rock, Loretta! Let's see....where to begin??? There was a package of holiday ribbon, a bag of dimensionals, a huge roll of red sticky tape, a planner, a beautiful butterfly keyring, a tea light candle lollipop, Fiskars Cameo Ovations stamps, Memory Boutique frames, corners and hat pins, Making Memories frame, a set of scrapbooking embellishments, and Making Memories Sabrina ribbon slides! Whew!! What a haul!! Thank you again, Loretta, for your generous gifts!
I so appreciate the wonderful blogging friends I have made. I am honored to be in groups of bloggers that share not only their creative talent but also share themselves and their time! This has been such a rewarding experience!
I am off now to play in my craft room! Lots of inspiration to get me jumpstarted!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you will come by often! I wish all of you...
Bountiful Blessings,
Vicki

YooHoo!
Hello Friends!
I know I have not been around here as much as I should be. I really miss my blogging time and my friends. I have also missed my crafting time. But, as life happens, I have been dealing with some issues that take my time away from blogland. I am confident things will reconcile themselves soon and I can get back to my usual chaos!
The pic you see is of one of my favorite places in the world...Cades Cove. It's part of the Great Smoky Mountains Natl. Park and it is where settlers first came to when they crossed over the mountain from North Carolina. The peaceful rolling fields and the beautiful flora as well as the abundance of animals make for an ideal spot to reflect and relax. Even when I can't get there, even looking at the pictures relaxes me. I hope all of you get the opportunity to visit this park at some time and just drink in all of God's beauty!
I wanted to address some of the comments made on the previous post...Glitterbees Challenge. The card opens from the bottom with a double hinge at the top. I had hoped to get some pics for you but that hasn't happened yet. Several of you thought it would make a nice pin as well. This particular card is 4" x 4" so probably a little large for a pin. However, the smaller layers of this template would make a beautiful pin. Thanks to all of you that stopped by and commented on this project. I truly appreciate them all.
I just wanted to let everyone know I'm still here and trying to get back to the routine. Thank you to all who have checked on me and kept me in your prayers. That means so much and helps with the issues at hand. Love and hugs to all my blogging buddies and a big Y'all Come Back Now to everyone!
Blessings to you,
Vicki

Glitterbees Challenge
Hello and Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend and got to share some great time with their Valentine!
I have the honor to be hostess for the Glitterbess challenge this time around! The card today is my interpretation of our next challenge! The challenge is to make a shaped card! However, the shape can be anything but a square or rectangle!! That means it can be a circle, a diamond, an apple, a car....wherever your mind and inspiration lead you! There are some great shape cards on Mel Stampz under Templates, on Google search, as well as YouTube.
My card uses the Martha Stewart resized flower templates from Mel's blog. There are five different size flowers and I layered them all. I started with the largest and cut it on the fold to form the card base in white card stock. The other layers are cut from wallpaper. The green layers are edged with a gel pen. The floral layers are edged with Stickles. The card layer is edged on top with sea green bead trim. The back of the card is edged with lace trim. I also cut another large flower to use on back to cover the lace edge. Gluing the trims was a bit tricky and took some drying time, but the results were worth it! All the layers are attached with glue dots. The final touch is an antique button added to the center of the card.
This card was made for a lady very dear to me! Just being near her makes my heart sing! She makes my world a much better place to be! And, although her birthday isn't until March, I wanted to share her card with you now. Don't worry! Mom doesn't do computers or visit blogs!! LOL!!
I hope you enjoyed what you have seen here today and you will join us in this challenge! You can visit our challenge blog and link your card. We would love to see what you have created! You have until the end of February to post your card for this challenge. We have new challenges the first and the fifteenth of each month! You don't have to be a Glitterbee to participate so come on over and join us!
Thank you so much for your visit today! It is always so special when you drop by! We'll keep the light on for ya! (But don't look for the motel sign...look for the creeks and cats!!)
Blessings to you,
Vicki

Glitterbees Challenge Neverending Card
Greetings Everyone!
I have a fun Glitterbees challenge card for you today! Loretta is our hostess for this challenge and she asked us to make a neverending card! I have seen these all over the web but this is my first attempt! So here goes...!
I decided to make a Valentine for all the Ladies in the Glitterbees Blog Group on SCS! These ladies have become dear friends and I admire all their talent! Hope you enjoy it!
I started with four pieces of white card stock cut at 3"x 6". I scored all four pieces vertically at
1 1/2". Then I scored all four pieces horizontally at 1 1/2 " from each end. I laid two pieces butted together vertically on my work desk and added DS tape to all four corners. Then I took the other two pieces and layered them on top going horizontally. Next I folded on all the score lines and burnished them well with a bone folder. Now I had my card base and I could start having some fun! I stamped the background on all folds with a heart stamp. For the front, I used my bee stamp and my SU Love Ya! The Love Ya images I heat embossed with clear powder. I crimped red card stock and punched out four hearts, turning the paper so the lines of the crimp go different ways. I punched out the small hearts and added them with 2way glue. For the next fold, I stamped bee mine and added the sentiment and two foam hearts. All the bees are colored with Prisma pencils. For fold #3, I stamped hearts on the four center panels and added glittered hearts. I also stamped love bugs on four panels. On fold #4, I used the bee stamp and Love Ya stamp again. I finished the back fold with the Love bug stamp.
I was thrilled when my stamped images and the sentiment came out going in the right directions!! I had visions of upside down hearts and bees flying backwards!!
I want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! A special wish for love and laughter to my Glitterbee girls! You are all awesome!
Thank you for spending some time here today and sharing in our challenge! You can participate, too, if you like! Just add your post to Mr. Linky on our challenge blog! We will also have a new challenge coming up on February 15th! Hope you will join us!
Blessings to you,
Vicki

Hello Friends!
No craft project to share to day, but a big THANK YOU to all the followers!
If you have become a follower on my blog and I haven't contacted you to thank you, please forgive me! It is not something I want to neglect but Blogger has left me with no options! For months now, I have been trying to retrieve the followers that Blogger let vanish and still no help from them. I can see the number of followers I have on my dashboard but I can not view the individual follower. Also, I can not view any followers on anyone else's blog. Nor can I become a follower of any blogs. Nothing shows up for me but the title. You can imagine how frustrating and discouraging this can be. There are so many blogs that I would love to follow and visit on a regular basis, but there is no where for me to sign up with the present situation.
I hope you will continue to follow my blog and know that I appreciate each of you. I am hoping that Blogger can correct this issue in the future. I guess the old saying is true in this case, "You get what you pay for"! I love using Blogger for so many other features they offer. I have also learned I am one of thousands having this issue with them. So, I'll continue to use them and continue to be grateful for the followers I can't see!!
Have a wonderful week and stay safe and warm!
Blessings to you,
Vicki

Pretty and Pink
Hello Friends!
I hope your week is going well! So glad you could stop by today!
I have had a busy week but productive. Finally shook that nasty head cold and feel like a new person! Thank you all so much for your well wishes!
Last night was Fellowship dinner at church and we had such a good time! I am so blessed with wonderful loving friends in all areas of my life! Wish you all could have been there to share in the El Dorado Casserole! It's much like a Mexican lasagna! Yumm!
The card you see today was designed for a very dear friend who owns a bed and breakfast horse ranch. She is such a special lady! I started with a pink card base and used an EK Success border punch on the bottom top piece. I used deco scissors on the bottom side of the base. I used computer generated DP for the "hay" layer and used the border punch again all the way around. The same for the white layer. The next hay layer was cut with deco scissors. The birthday sentiment was done on the computer, cut and aged with Antique Linen ink. The horse image was stamped and cut and matted to pink. This too was aged. The crochet flower was added with a pearl center. I also added pearls to the corner. A white organdy ribbon was tied to add a final accent. I really enjoyed this card and was so glad the computer and stamp mix came together as well as it did. Hope you like it, too!
Now, it's back to the craft room to get in some much needed time! Lots of Valentines yet to do and so many birthdays and anniversarys the next couple of months! Thank you for visiting today! I hope you enjoyed your visit and found something positive to take away with you! You are all so special and appreciated! Come on back now....Ya hear!!
Blessings to you,
Vicki

A Fun Birthday!
'
Hello Friends
Not my typical card today! My grandson is celebrating his tenth birthday, so, I have made him a special card!
At one time, he lived with me and fell in love with the animals I always seem to have around. Now when we talk, it's not "How are you doing, Grandma?". It's "how's Dusty?"or "What is Molly chewing now?" or "How are the cats?". I should be offended but I know he loves me...he can just hear how I am doing...lol!
The photos aren't the greatest as this is a LARGE card! It had to be as I put pictures of all the animals on it! It is computer generated using Print Shop except for the stickers I used. I put lots of paw prints throughout and put the names by each animal. I think he'll get a kick out of this card!
I thank you for your visit today! Please stop by often! I never know what may be on the blog next! I let life dictate the content and my life can get a little crazy at times!! I may live in the mountains but we never lack for fun and adventure!!
Blessings to you,
Vicki (and the Herd)
